Foreign Minister of Japan Tharo Kono says that the Government of Japan is ready to provide its fullest support to the development and reconciliation processes in Sri Lanka.
 
He gave this assurance when he called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat, today (Jan. 05).
 
A Foreign Minister from Japan visiting Sri Lanka after a lapse of 15 years.
 
The Foreign said that a special delegation will arrive in Sri Lanka at the end of this month to further explore business and investment opportunities in the country.
 
President recalled the historic friendship between Sri Lanka and Japan and extended his gratitude for the continuous support given to Sri Lanka as a true friend.

Meanwhile, the visiting Japanese Foreign Minister also held discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo today.

They have discussed ways and means to enhance trade and political ties between the 2 countries.
