Train tragedy ends life of young carrom champion

In an unfortunate incident, a young carrom champion died on Saturday night (Jan. 06) in a train accident in Panideniya, Kandy.
 
The 20-year-old, Indika Naveen Kalansuriya had stuck the head against Black Bridge in Panideniya, while he was travelling on the foot-board of the Kandy express train from Colombo.
 
Thereafter, he had fallen into the Mahaweli River.
 
Police said the deceased was returning home with a friend after attending a carrom tournament in Colombo.
 
He was a resident of Mahaiyawa, Kandy.
