The Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council, C. V. Vigneswaran has informed US Ambassador to Sri Lanka that the government has failed to implement any of the recommendations made at the Geneva Human Rights Council.

During a meeting with US Ambassador, Athul Keshap yesterday (Jan. 15), Vigneswaran told the Ambassador that the United States should remind Sri Lankan government of its promised obligations.

He has also insisted that the US should clearly mention that action against Sri Lanka will be taken if it does not fulfill the pledges given at the UN body.

Meanwhile, the Northern Chief Minister told Indian High Commissioner Taranjith Singh that India did not draw sufficient attention to the matter, to settle the problems in the North and the East.

He highlighted this during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner in Colombo
