Tamil National Alliance MP Mavai Senathirajah says that he will complain to the Election Commission with regard to the allegation that TNA MPs were bribed with Rs. 20 million each in return for voting in favour of the Budget.

MP Senadhirajah said that another faction of the TNA has made this allegation targeting the forthcoming Local Government election.

This allegation was first made by EPRLF member and TNA MP, Shivashakthi Aanandan at an election rally held in Vavuniya recently.

MP Anandan said excluding him, the other 15 TNA MPs were bribed with Rs. 20 million each by the Government.

He also said that the initial plan of the TNA was to vote against the Budget. He said, however, 15 MPs voted in favour of the Budget after allegedly accepting the bribe.

Responding to these allegations, TNA MP S. Sridharan challenged MP Anandan to prove his allegations.

However, MP, Shivashakthi Anandan said that despite the excuses by accused TNA MPs, the truth is already unearthed.
