The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna today (Jan. 24) withdrew 6 petitions filed at the Court of Appeal against the rejection of their nomination lists.

The petitions were withdrawn when they were taken up before the President of Court of Appeal K. T. Chitrasiri and Shiran Gooneratne.

The petitions were filed relating to the rejection of nominations for Mahargama UC, Panadura UC, Weligama PS, Thirappane PS, Mahiyangana PS and Agalawatte PS.

Already those petitions have been rejected by the Supreme Court and SLPP had withdrawn them thinking that those would be rejected at the Court of Appeal as well.
