The Joint Opposition, Tamil National Alliance and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna have skipped the party leaders’ meeting convened by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
 
The meeting began at 9 am this morning (Jan. 29).
 
Here, he drew the attention of introducing necessary laws to deal with the perpetrators named in the Bond commission report.
 
Representatives from the United National Party, leader of the Sri Lanka Communist Party, former Minister, D.E.W. Gunesekera and Jathika Hela Urumaya General Secretary, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka were present.
 
In addition to the political party representatives, the Central Bank Governor, the Attorney General and Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption attended the meeting.
 
Here, the President clarified the real story behind the charge that several pages of the Bond report have been removed before it was issued to the public domain.
 
The President reiterated that there were no pages missing from the report.
 
However, certain annexures have been withheld due to legal requirements.
 
Meanwhile, a party leaders meeting has been convened at 10 am tomorrow, to take a final decision as to when the Parliament should be convened, before the forthcoming Local Government election.
