Arjun Aloysius & Kasun Palisena taken to prison...
 
Perpetual Treasuries' owner Arjun Aloysius and its Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena have been further remanded until 16th of February by Colombo Fort Magistrate.
 
The Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne gave this order when Aloysius and Palisena were produced before the court this morning (Feb. 05).

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne last night remanded them until today.
 
The Magistrate gave the order, at the request of the Criminal Investigation Department as they produced the suspects at the Magistrate’s official residence.
 
The CID arrested Aloysius and Palisena over their alleged links with bond scam their private residences in Wellawatta and Colpetty respectively.
 
Thereafter the two suspects were brought to the CID and were interrogated throughout the day regarding the bond incident.
 
Submitting a B report to the Colombo Fort Magistrate court recently the CID said that the two had been named as suspects in connection with the Central Bank bond scam.
 
In addition, the former Central Bank governor Arjuna Mahendran has also been named as a suspect in the same case.
 
The Colombo Fort Magistrate issued a notice to the former Central Bank Governor, who is currently in Singapore, to return to Sri Lanka prior to 15th of February to make a statement to the CID.

Meanwhile, when the suspects were produced before the Magistrate, PC Kalinga Indratissa appearing for the suspects requested his clients to be released on bail.

Then the Magistrate ordered to submit relevant details in writing and the attorney agreed to make it win in two days.

Accordingly, the case will be taken up again on Wednesday.
