Special cabinet discussion ends, more talks to follow"

The special cabinet meeting which was held at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (Feb. 14) to discuss the future of the government has come to an end.
 
The discussion commenced at around 9.30 am under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
 
Later today, the SLFP Ministers are scheduled to meet President Maithripala Sirisena for a separate meeting.
 
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Media Spokesperson, State Minister Dilan Perera said that several crucial decisions will be taken at that meeting.
 
He mentioned that their stance not to support the government will not change unless the Ministry portfolios are shuffled.
 
Meanwhile, the SLFP Ministers had a lengthy meeting in Colombo last night to discuss their future political plans.
 
When contacted Minister Chandima Weerakkody said that the President will be informed of the outcome of their meeting when they meet him this afternoon.
 
Meanwhile, another round of discussion UNP and SLFP Ministers will be held later today which will be followed by a meeting which will be chaired by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees.
 
A 10 member committee was appointed yesterday to come up with necessary recommendations to decide the future of the Good Governance government.
 
The committee will include five members each from the SLFP and UNP.
