Case against Prasanna Ranatunga fixed for March 12

Colombo High Court Judge Manilal Vidyathilaka today (Feb. 14) fixed 12th of March to hear the case against former Chief Minister of Western Province, Prasanna Ranatunga and 2 others.
 
They are accused of 15 charges including obtaining of Rs. 64 million from a businessman promising to provide him a land.
 
Ranatunga's wife and another businessman are also charged in this case.
 
Although the case was to be heard today, the counsel appearing for defendants requested the judge to postpone the hearing as his clients have a separate case to be attended.
 
The state counsels did not oppose and then the judge decided to put off the hearing until 12th of March.
