Meanwhile, Deputy Minister, Nishantha Muthuhettigama told journalists in Colombo today that SLFP will form a government within the next 48 hours.

He further said that the Joint Opposition, as well as several UNP MPs, are willing to support the SLFP in this effort.

At the same time, Chairman of the Ceylon Workers' Congress, MP Muttu Sivalingam was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Small and Primary Industries before the President today.

Ceylon Workers Congress leader, Arumugam Thondaman and several party top rankers who met President Sirisena last evening promised that they would support any decision taken by the President in the future.

Meanwhile, UNP General Secretary, Minister Kabir Hashim said that his party decided to continue the Unity Government after making changes to the government policies and the party structure.
