New economic plan from next week"

National Economic Council has decided to introduce a new economic plan for the country next week, which will bring in speedy economic management changes.
 
The decision was reached when the National Economic Council met at the Presidential Secretariat.
 
President Maithripala Sirisena chaired the meeting.
 
The President's Media Division said that the NEC discussed short, medium and long-term strategies that are needed to transform the country's economy.
 
President Maithripala Sirisena established the National Economic Council last year and it met for the 8th occasion today.
 
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Mangala Samaraweera, W. D. J. Seneviratne, Sajith Premadasa, Rauff Hakeem, Malik Samarawickrema, Faizer Mustapha and Navin Dissanayake attended the discussion.
