Military Police to investigate Diyathalawa blast

Military Spokesperson Brig. Sumith Atapattu says the Military Police is tasked with handling the probe into the explosion that occurred inside a bus in Kahagolla, Diyathalawa.
 
19 persons including 12 security forces personnel were injured in the explosion and subsequent blaze which took place early morning yesterday (Feb. 21).
 
Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera said when a hand grenade which may have been in possession of a soldier travelling in the bus exploded, caused this incident.
 
It is reported that 14 injured persons are still receiving treatment at Diyathalawa Hospital and doctors have removed a part of a leg of a soldier who was critically injured in the explosion and fire.
