Rear Admiral Ananda Guruge has been noticed to give a statement to Criminal Investigation Department with regard to the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths during 2008/09 period.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered Rear Admiral Guruge to report to the CID on 5th of March to give a statement.

The Magistrate also refused to remove the investigations from the CID as requested by the counsel for the defendant.

The Magistrate said that a court does not have powers legally to transfer a case to another authority.

When the case was taken up today (Feb. 22), the Magistrate also ordered to remand the two Naval Intelligence Officials who are in remand custody over their alleged links with the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths, until 08th of March.

The Magistrate also put aside a request by the counsels of the two suspects not to charge them with murder.

The Magistrate ordered the seven suspects including former Navy Spokesperson Commodore D. K. P. Dassanayake who are on bail to appear before the court on 03rd of May.
