The investigating officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has questioned former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake for four hours to record a statement today (Feb. 27).

Sources from the Commission said the MP was questioned based on the details revealed following the Central Bank bond scam probe conduction by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry.

The Commission in its final report pointed out that action could be taken against Karunanayake under the Bribery Act or any other law as it was revealed that Karunanayake's house rent was paid by a company which was owned by the owners of the Perpetual Treasuries.

The Bribery Commission had summoned the MP to get the MP's view on those allegations.
