The Maha Sangha is requesting the public to settle issues through negotiation.

They made this request after a spate of clashes disrupted peace and harmony in the Kandy district.

Anunayake of the Malwathu Chapter, Venerable Dimbulkumbure Wimaladamma Thera, Chief Prelate of the Ramannya Nikaya, Most Venerable Napane Pemasiri Thera and, the Chief Prelate of the Amarapura Nikaya, Most Venerable Kotugoda Dammaawasa Thera requested the public to act peacefully considering the prevailing situation in the country.
