The curfew imposed on the Kandy administrative district at 6 last evening ended at 6 this morning (Mar. 09).
 
Our correspondent said police, STF and the armed forces are still being deployed to ensure that law and order is maintained.
 
Police Media Spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekera, said that 71 persons who are responsible for damaging houses and places of worship were arrested.
 
Meanwhile, the Terrorism Investigation Division yesterday arrested 10 persons including the lead suspect who is believed to be connected to incidents in Kandy.
 
SP Gunasekera said that they were brought to Colombo for further interrogation and they will be detained for 14 days under the emergency regulations.
 
Meanwhile, Kandy District Secretary, H. M. P. Hitisekera said that the assessment of damaged houses and business premises would begin today.
