Admiral Katsutoshi Kawana, Chief of Japanese Defence Staff has called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Residence, today (Mar. 09).
 
Chief of Japanese Defence Staff assured the President that Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force would extend the fullest support to the measures taken to protect maritime security in Sri Lanka.
 
The Japanese Defence Chief agreed to increase the training opportunities for Sri Lanka Navy personnel in Japan.
 
He also agreed to provide technical assistance to curb drug smuggling.
