Former Senior DIG Prasanna Nanayakkara has reportedly aided to remove pages from the police report and allegedly misplaced a diary which had contained the details relating to the murder of Sunday Leader Editor-in-Chief Lasantha Wickramatunga.
 
Nanayakkara is now in remand custody.
 
These details were disclosed at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court when the case relating to the murder was taken up before the court today (Mar. 15).
 
The Court was told that former OIC of Mt. Lavinia Police Stations Crime Branch, SI Tissasiri Sugatapala has revealed that information to the Criminal Investigation Department.
 
SI Tissasiri who is also in remand custody, in connection with the murder of Wickramatunga told the CID that he had been instructed by the SDIG to remove pages from the police report and misplace the diary.
 
The CID also told Court that statements have been obtained from Minister Sarath Fonseka and former Minister Mervin Silva in connection with the same case on a previous occasion.
 
The CID said, it has obtained statements from 7 members of the Army Intelligence Unit.
 
Thereafter, the Magistrate ordered to extend the remand term of SDIG Nanayakkara and SI Tissasiri until 29th of March.
 
On the 21st of February former SSP who was in charge of Mt. Lavinia, Division, Hemantha Adhikari who was under investigation, gave a  confidential statement for 3 hours over the case.
