Meanwhile, CID informed the Court that the first respondent, Arjuna Mahendran is aware of the summons issued on him, but has apparently ignored the summons.

Accordingly, the Magistrate who issued arrest warrants on Arjuna Mahendran said that indictments will be filed against him under the Public Property Act and the Penal Code.

She also said that sufficient evidence has been emerged to name Arjuna Mahendran as a respondent in this case.

She further said that he has apparently ignored the court summons and has been evading the court.

Accordingly, the Magistrate issued an arrest warrant on Mahendran both in Sinhala and English languages.

Meanwhile, owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius and its CEO Kasun Palisena were further remanded till 29th of March when they were produced before the court today.

Additional Solicitor General, Yasantha Kodagoda told the court that CID took two mobile phones belonging to Arjuna Mahendran’s daughter into their custody.

The CID also submitted to the court a list of names of those who had allegedly aided and abetted Arjun Aloysius in the Bond Scam.

In addition, President Counsel, Yasantha Kodagoda informed the court that a private bank has used the fixed deposits belonging to Aloysius’s liquor company W. M. Mendis Limited to settle an overdraft of the company.

He said that Perpetual Treasuries has circumvented and transferred its illegally amassed money into the personal wealth of Aloysius and Palisena.

Therefore, the President Counsel requested the court to issue a decree on the respondents ordering them to submit a declaration of assets and liabilities to the court.

A decree was also issued to telephone companies ordering them to provide the CID with details of conversations made between the outside individuals and Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjun Aloysius and its CEO Kasun Palisena.

The Court said that another decree would be issued on the respondents ordering them to declare their assets and liabilities after making references to relevant legal aspects.
