Army submits a report to government on Kandy incident

Sri Lanka Army has submitted a report to the government disclosing details about the recent incidents in the Kandy district.
 
Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Mahesh Senanayake told us that Kandy is peaceful now.
 
Meanwhile, several police teams including the Criminal Investigation Department are carrying out investigations into the incidents in Kandy.
 
In an attempt to contain the clashes, the government imposed ‘State of Emergency’ on 6th of March for a period of 10 days.
 
Minister of Law and Order, Ranjith Madduma Bandara said that a final decision with regard to the ‘State of Emergency’ would be taken at the National Security Council meeting.
 
However, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has suggested that a decision will be taken on the ‘State of Emergency’ after having consulted President Maithripala Sirisena.
