Two remanded over Mathugama luxury bus incident

A father who is accused of assaulting a luxury bus conductor of the Mathugama - Colombo route after his son fell from the bus, has been remanded until 29th of this month.
 
Police said that the suspect was produced before the Mathugama Magistrate today (Mar. 19), and then the Magistrate ordered him to be remanded.
 
On Saturday, police arrested the private bus driver after a schoolboy fell from a bus.
 
Following that incident, the father of the schoolboy had clashed with the bus conductor and the driver.
 
Then police arrested the father of the boy for assaulting the bus workers.
 
Thereafter, the luxury bus operators of the 430 route began a strike and the strike is still underway.
