The vehicle importers warn that due to the depreciation of Rupee against Japanese Yen, the prices of vehicles imported from Japan will rise.

They said because of this the prices of popular small vehicles such as Suzuki Wagon R and Vitz could go up by Rs. 200,000.

However, the government recently revised the tax structure for vehicle imports based on engine capacities.

In that context, the vehicle importers said there won't be any upward tax revision due to this phenomenon.

According to the exchange rates issued by the Central Bank, the selling rate of a Japanese Yen was Rs. 1.51.
