No plan to increase fuel prices - CPC

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says it has not taken any decision to increase the fuel prices.
 
The Chairman of the CPC, Dhammika Ranatunga disclosed this when we contacted him.
 
Meanwhile, Lanka IOC had revised the fuel prices upwardly from last midnight.
 
Lanka IOC has increased the price of a litre of 92 Octane petrol 9 Rupees and the new price is Rs. 126, while the price of a litre of diesel was increased by 5 Rupees up to Rs. 100.
 
 Lanka IOC in a communiqué said that they had incurred losses in the sale of petrol since 2015 January and in the sale of diesel since 2016 September.
 
The company also said that they expected a tax concession from the government in order to reduce prices.
