Opposition leader urges to fulfil promises made

The leader of the Opposition, R. Sampanthan says that the government will have to face the consequences if Sri Lanka does not fulfil the promises it made to the international community at the UN Human Rights Council.

When contacted the veteran politician said Sri Lanka fulfil its commitments and so far the government has failed to do so.

Meanwhile, Minister Faizer Mustapha who is currently attending the 30th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva told us during a telephone conversation that the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana had explained at the sessions that Sri Lanka has been committed towards co-existence since 2015.
