Leaders of the United National Front have decided to meet with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to ask him to resign before the ‘no-confidence motion’ is debated and voted.
 
A UNF Minister told our news team that the decision was taken during a special meeting at Suwasiripaya yesterday (Mar. 27).
 
Ministers, Rajitha Senarathna, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Sarath Fonseka, Arjuna Ranatunga, Rauff Hakeem, P. Digambaram, Risath Bathuideen, Mano Ganesan, Deputy Minister Karunarathna Paranavithana and MP Chathura Senarathna had participated in the meeting.
 
Meanwhile, at a separate meeting, the UNP MPs had discussed the ‘no-confidence motion’ last afternoon. 
 
State Minister, Harsha de Silva told our news team that during the meeting attention was drawn to several factors that would ensure that the ‘no-confidence motion’ is defeated.

In addition, UNP’s Central Working Committee members will meet at 9 am in Sirikotha to discuss the ‘no-confidence motion’.

Meanwhile, Minister, Vajira Abeywardana addressing a media conference in Colombo today (Mar. 28) that if the ‘no-confidence motion’ is not defeated, Parliament will be dissolved.
