SLFP takes a decision on ‘no-confidence motion’

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided to convene a meeting 48 hours before the ‘no-confidence motion’ against the Prime Minister is debated in Parliament to take a decision on the motion.
 
The proposed meeting will be held at President’s House on 2nd of April.
 
The General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera told us that the party will make their collective decision at this meeting.
 
Meanwhile, the Joint Opposition Parliamentarians will meet under the patronage of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa next Tuesday (Apr. 03) to further discuss the motion.
 
In addition, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna will also convene a politburo meeting.
 
The Tamil National Alliance is to announce its final decision, when its leader, R. Sampanthan returns after the conclusion of his tour of India.
 
In the Meantime, the United National Front coalition leaders met with Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees last evening (Mar. 29).
 
Ministers Rajitha Senarathna, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Palani Digambaram, Mano Ganesan, Navin Dissanayake, Sarath Fonseka and State Minister Ajith P. Perera participated in that meeting.
