Minister Chandima Weerakkody says that a resolution will be presented to the Central Working Committee meeting this evening, demanding to change the General Secretaries of Sri Lanka Freedom Party and United People's Freedom Alliance.
 
The Central Working Committee of the SLFP will meet under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence at 7 this evening
 
During this meeting, the 16 SLFP MPs who voted in favour of the 'no-confidence motion' against the Prime Minister are going to decide as to whether they should resign from the current Ministry portfolios.
 
A group of UNP Ministers led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe recently met with the President and informed him that they cannot work in the government with those SLFP Ministers who voted in favour of the 'no-confidence motion' against the Prime Minister.
 
Meanwhile, speaking to media after an event in Irattaperiyakulam in Vavuniya today (Apr. 09), Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that the NCM mooted against the SLFP Ministers has been withdrawn.
 
Minister Lakshman Kiriella who addressed a ceremony in Kandy, told media that it is not acceptable for those SLFP ministers who voted in favour of the NCM to remain as part of the government.
 
Meanwhile, the leaders of the United National Front will have a meeting with the Prime Minister on 11th of April to discuss the current political situation.
