President to address Commonwealth Business Forum

President Maithripala Sirisena, who is in London to attend Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018, is scheduled to address the Commonwealth Business Forum today (Apr. 18).
 
The President has been invited to deliver the keynote address at the forum under the title, “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”.
 
The Commonwealth Business Forum is an integral part of CHOGM and it brings together the businesses critical to trade and investment leadership with the government to debate the issues facing their countries.
 
President Sirisena is also scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Theresa May and hold discussions with several key officials who will be participating in CHOGM.
 
The theme this year’s CHOGM is “Towards a Common Future”.
 
Special attention is being given to areas such as prosperity, security, fairness and sustainability to achieve the goals of the Commonwealth countries.
 
During his stay, the President will also attend the 92nd birthday celebration of Queen Elizabeth II.
