Female bank accountant arrested for fraud

Police have arrested a female accountant attached to a bank in Gampaha for allegedly defrauding Rs. 20 million.
 
The investigations have been launched following a complaint lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department.
 
The CID had also obtained foreign travel ban on the suspect.
 
Following that, the suspect had arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai on Wednesday (Apr. 18) and then she was apprehended by the Immigration and Emigration officials of the BIA.
 
However, she had managed to flee. But with the assistance of communication tower reports, she was arrested in Kegalle area yesterday.
 
The suspect, aged 36 is a resident of Gampaha. She will be produced before Gampaha Magistrate today.
