Tuition teacher fallen to Viyana Canal still missing (Photos)

Police say the tuition teacher who is believed to have driven the luxury vehicle that had fallen into he Viyana Canal in Mahiyanganaya is still missing.

Police lifeguards commenced a operation with the support of the area residents to locate him.

They deployed 2 boats as well.

The incident had occurred at around 4.30 am today (Apr. 26).

Police said the vehicle was retrieved with the support of the area residents.

However, no one was in the vehicle.

The vehicle has been registered under the name of a 34-year-old private tuition teacher from Hingurakgoda, Polonnaruwa.

He had left the home at around 2 am saying that he's going to Kataragama.

He had pumped fuel from a shed in the Hingurakgoda town.

However, police are yet to find him.
