President and the Prime Minister meet ahead of Cabinet reshuffle

A meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was held ahead of the proposed Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow (May 01).
 
The two leaders met at the funeral of the father-in-law of UNP General Secretary, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, and former Wayamba Provincial Councilor B. M. Wijenayake.
 
Having paid the last respect to the mortal remains of late Wijenayake, the President and the Prime Minister met in a separate room at the residence.
 
It is reported that UNP General Secretary, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, and Minister Daya Gamage also participated in the meeting.
 
Meanwhile, political sources stated that the proposed Cabinet reshuffle will be conducted at 10 am tomorrow at the Presidential Secretariat.
 
All the ministers have been informed to be present at the Presidential Secretariat by 9:30 am tomorrow.
 
It is reported that the cultural portfolio currently being held by Akila Viraj Kariyawasam would be changed.
 
At the same time, political sources stated that Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe who was asked to resign from his ministry portfolio will be reappointed as a Cabinet Minister.
 
In addition, the ministry portfolios which fell vacant after the resignation of 6 SLFP Ministers will be filled tomorrow.
