President's Media Division says that President Maithripala Sirisena has paid his attention towards the arrest of a senior officer at the Presidential Secretariat and a chairman of a state corporation.

He had ordered to interdict the services of the suspected officials and take stern legal actions against them without any interference.

In this case, President's Chief of Staff Dr. I. H. K. Mahanama and State Timber Corporation Chairman P. Dissanayaka were arrested by the Bribery Commission this evening (May 03) while accepting a bribe of Rs.20 million from an Indian businessman.

Dr. Mahanama was earlier the Secretary to the Ministry of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms.
