The specimen from the bodies of the 2 British rugby players who had died after developing breathing difficulties after a night out in Colpetty, has been sent to the Government Analyst.

The decision was taken by the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer after the postmortem inquiries.

A 22-member British rugby team arrived in Sri Lanka last week to attend few friendly matches.

They had played a match on Saturday (May 12) with a leading Colombo club and in the evening, a group of players had visited a nightclub in Colpetty.

Police have collected CCTV footage from the nightclub to be probed.

Colombo Fort Magistrate told yesterday that the decision on whether bodies would be handed over to their relatives will be announced today (May 17).
