Research is being carried out to determine if, in addition to the spread of the Influenza virus, the virus, Adino is also spreading in the Southern province.
 
As a result of the viral infections coupled with bacterial attacks 13 persons including 11 children, have died in the South so far.
 
The Director of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Dr. Jayampathi  Senanayake told our news team that the number of viral infected patients who are being admitted to the hospital has decreased notably.
