The Disaster Management Center asks the people living in the low-lying areas of Jaela to seek shelter at safe locations as the water level of Jaela is rising with the receding of flood waters from the Attanagalu Oya.

It was also reported with the flooding of Deduru Oya, Chilaw, Jayabima and Deduruoya areas have inundated.

50 families in those villages have been affected and 40 other families in Madampe and Galahitiyawa are also affected.

Our correspondents said that the central hills are experiencing rough winds.

The Road Development Authority said that the Hatton - Colombo road has been cleared for vehicle movements now.

The vehicle movement was restricted due to a landslide in Diyagala last afternoon.
