SriLankan flight veers off in Cochin while landing, no injuries to passengers

SriLankan Airlines says its flight UL 167 en-route from Colombo to Cochin while landing at Cochin International Airport during an intense rain, veered towards the runway edge and caused damages to some ground lights.
 
In a statement, the airline said no passengers were injured in the incident that happened at around 3.30 pm today (May 27).
 
Thereafter, the aircraft was thoroughly inspected and certified as undamaged by SriLankan Airlines’ engineering staff.
 
There was minor damage to two lights on the runway. The flight was carrying a total of 228 passengers and 12 crew members.
