The All Ceylon Polythene Manufacturing and Recycling Association says that their degradable products cannot fetch a reasonable price as banned polythene varieties are still sold in the open market.
 
The association's chairman, Anura Herath said that his association will withdraw their membership in the future, due to this situation.
 
The production of the Polythene with micro less than 20 was banned on the January 1st this year.
 
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority Chandrasena Pallegama said that the staff is not enough to conduct raids.
 
He further said that a decision has been taken to conduct raids with the support of police and public health officers.
