University students arm detached in accident in Ratnapura

The right arm of a university student has severed in an accident involving a tipper and a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus in Sannasgala, Pelmadulla in Ratnapura.

The student was onboard the SLTB bus plying from Colombo to Bibile when the accident had occurred.

It is reported that other passengers had admitted the student to Ratnapura hospital, along with the detached arm.

Police stated that measures were taken to transfer the student to Colombo National Hospital, thereafter.

A spokesperson at the Colombo National Hospital told our news team that a surgery was conducted to re-attach the severed arm.
