Arachchikattuwa police have submitted a report to the Chilaw Magistrate Court this morning (Jun 07) with regards to the crash involving Yashodha Range Bandara, the son of State Minister, Palitha Range Bandara.
 
A senior police officer investigating the accident said that court permission will be sought to have the suspect arrested.
 
The medical tests have confirmed that the suspect was driving under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident.
 
Yashoda Range Bandara was driving a double cab belonging to a government Ministry when he lost control of the vehicle which saw it being veered off the road at the Kottapitiya junction early last morning (Jun 06) before crashing into a nearby house.
 
The house was extensively damaged in the incident.
 
The suspect who was transferred from Chilaw hospital to Colombo National Hospital for a test had discharged himself and got admitted to Sri Jayewardenepure Hospital instead.
