Ceylon Electricity Board's Engineers' Union says they will again stop attending to emergency repairs and maintenance work from this afternoon (Jun 11), if their demands are not addressed.

The CEB Engineers are undertaking a work-to-rule campaign, citing the Public Utilities Commission's failure to approve CEB's Long-term Power Generation Plan.

Intensifying their trade union action, they moved out of attending to emergency work from last Wednesday afternoon.

However, later they agreed to suspect that action after authorities agreed to approve the plan.

But they say since it is being delayed again, they will recommence their trade union action from this afternoon.

Meanwhile, postal workers are planning to launch a strike from 4 pm today (Jun 11), to show their protest against misuse of recruitment policies and the way interviews are held to recruit Sub-Post Masters.
