The leader of the Opposition of the Northern Province, S. Thawaraasa says that the Chief Minister of the Province, C. V. Vigneswaran should step down from his post.

He made this comment speaking to media in Jaffna yesterday (Jun 29).

The Court of Appeal yesterday issued an interim injunction suspending the directive issued by the Chief Minister of the Northern Province, C. V. Vigneswaran, removing the Provincial Minister of Transport and Fisheries, B. Deneshwaran.

The interim injunction was issued following the petition filed by the former minister, B. Deneshwaran.

The Chief Minister issued the directives last year August removing the minister from his portfolio.

Meanwhile, speaking at a conference in Kandy, TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran stated that the appointment of C. V. Vigneswaran as the Chief Minister of the Northern Province is a failed experiment.
