The Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development, Upali Marasinghe says the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation is suffering due to payments to be settled by SriLankan Airlines and Ceylon Electricity Board.
 
The national carrier owes Rs. 12 billion while the CEB is to settle Rs. 55 billion to the CPC.
 
Marasinghe said because of this, the CPC is struggling to survive and the CPC is paying Rs. one billion as interests for loans it acquired.
