Blood Bank activities crippled by GMOA strike

The activities at the National Blood Transfusion Center and island-wide blood donation activities have been crippled by the strike launched by the doctors attached to the Government Medical Officers’ Association of the National Blood Transfusion Center.
 
The GMOA branch of NBTC launched this strike against the Director of the institution, Dr. Rukshan Bellanage.
 
Meanwhile, the members of the Sri Lanka Accountants’ Service Union launched a sick leave campaign against the decision to increase salaries and allowances only for several selected services.
 
In addition to accountants, representatives from Inland Revenue, National Auditing and, Ayurveda Physicians have joined in the trade union action.
 
The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Accountants Service Union, Anton Perera said that a protest will be held in front of the Inland Revenue Department this afternoon to press their demands.
