Bus associations demand revision in bus fares

The bus associations say that a revision of bus fares should be made or concessions should be provided to them after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation decided to increase the fuel prices from midnight yesterday.
 
Accordingly, a liter of 92 Octane petrol was increased by 8 rupees, 95 Octane petrol by 7 rupees, auto diesel by 9 rupees and super diesel by 10 rupees.
 
However, the petroleum trade unions have requested from the government to make the fuel pricing formula public.
 
The President of the CPC trade union, D. J. Rajakaruna noted that according to the Right to information act, a written request would be made to the officials today (Jul 11).
