The group of ten people who were stranded inside the Wangedikanda forest reserve has been rescued.

They were rescued by the soldiers from the Diyathalawa Army Camp.

Fire in Wangedikanda reserve, 10 visitors stranded inside

10 persons who had entered the Wangedikanda reserve in Haldummulla, Badulla for sight-seeing, have stranded inside due to a wildfire spreading across the reserve.
 
Badulla District Disaster Management Unit said already a group of soldiers from the Diyathalawa Army Camp has been deployed to save them.
