British parliament suspends MP Paisley for visiting Sri Lanka under state sponsorship

British MP, Ian Paisley Jr. has been suspended for a month for allegedly touring Sri Lanka on a trip sponsored by the Sri Lankan government.
 
He was charged for visiting Sri Lanka with his family in 2013, without obtaining approval from the British government.
 
It was revealed that the Sri Lankan government spent 100,000 Sterling Pounds on his trip.
 
An investigation into the allegations has led to the MP being suspended for a month, beginning from 4th of September.
 
MP Ian Paisley Junior wrote to former British Prime Minister, David Cameron in 2014 objecting the proposal made to the UN against Sri Lanka.
 
The British media reported earlier that MP Paisley Junior met top government representatives of the then regime of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his tour of the island.
 
The UK Prime Minister, Theresa May is facing political issues over the suspension of MP, Ian Paisley as the voters of his constituent have asked for a by-election.
