Vehicle Importers' Union says that there is no issue in the importation of Euro4 standard vehicles.

The Union's President said this addressing the media in Colombo yesterday (Jul 20).

Meanwhile, Lanka Vehicle Importers' Association yesterday expressed concerns citing the importation of Japanese vehicles could be affected by the introduction of Euro4.

The Association's President Indika Sampath Merinchige told us that the vehicle users need to add another chemical solution if Euro4 fuel is used.

The Ministry of Petroleum Resource Development took steps to introduce Euro4 standard fuel in an attempt to minimize the impact on the environment.

However, Octane 92 and auto diesel will remain in the market.

Euro4 will be a substitute for Octane 95 and Super diesel.
