Police in Jaffna to curb clashes between Ava & Dhanurok groups

The leave of policemen attached to three police stations in Jaffna has been cancelled to assist to contain Ava and Dhanurok clashes.

A senior police officer from the Northern Province confirmed that leave for personnel attached to Manipay, Kopay, and Chunnakam police stations has been cancelled.

The decision has been taken in order to ensure that an adequate number of officers are on duty to assist with containing clashes in the Jaffna peninsula among the members of those gangs.

In addition to that police intelligence officials have also been deployed.
