Our correspondents say that functions at hospitals have been affected due to a one-day token strike launched by the Government Medical Officers' Association from this morning (Aug 03).

They have cited 10 reasons and the Free Trade Agreement with Singapore for their strike action.

The GMOA media committee member, Dr. Prasad Colombage said that clinical and OPD services at all government hospitals are disrupted as a result of their strike.

Meanwhile, the medical specialists have also joined the work stoppage and they have even moved out of private practice to show their protest against the new Inland Revenue Act.
