Indian drug peddler arrested at Pettah

Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested an Indian national in Pettah with 878g of a drug named Methamphetamine or ice.
 
Police said that the estimated value of the detection was Rs. 10mn.
 
The suspect, a 30-year-old from Tamil Nadu, was arrested last evening (Aug 02) and police said that he was a frequent visitor to Sri Lanka.
 
Meanwhile, a resident of Gampaha was arrested by Customs in the Bandaranaike International Airport, while he was attempting to smuggle in Rs. 3.25 million worth of gold biscuits from Singapore.
 
The 51-year-old suspect arrived in Sri Lanka early hours of today.
 
An employee attached to a private cleaning firm was also arrested in connection with this case.
